With a bike, you can get very close to the monuments, statues, cemeteries and sights of the Ypres Salient. Over the last years, I have visited over 200 sites in Ypres, around the City itself, the northern flank ( including Tyne Cot and Passchendaele), along the ridge from Hill 60 to Messines (Mesen) and the borderlands of Ploegsteert and Armentieres. Always deeply moving, the history and the reality of the conflict are witnessed by some of the most beautiful, respectful and immaculately preserved reminders of the brutality that was The Great War.
