27 Aug Day 1 – Meet at the D-Day Museum in Portsmouth (From 15:00) or at the Ferry Terminal at 20:00

Arrival Day 2 (Ferry arrives at approximately 07:00)

  • Travel to Normandy and visit the Beaches and the northern Cotentin Peninsula. See the drop zones and landing areas for the Allies on 6 June 1944 and beyond
  • Travel to the locations of the breakout from Caen and into northern France

Day 3

  • Morning ride towards the borders with Belgium. Follow the retreat of the Panzers and the advance of the Allied armies in France. Skirt Paris and the sweep north to the Flanders fields of the second world war.

Day 4

  • Travel on to the Netherlands and the locations of Operation Market Garden and “A Bridge Too Far” at Nijmegen and Arnhem

Day 5

  • Ride south to the Begian borders and Bastogne and the Battle of the Bulge. Ride into Germany and the Rhinelands

01 Sep Day 6

  • South into France and the battlefields of the Ardennes. See Pieper’s advance and the woodlands and countryside of the German border
  • The tour ends at the grave of General George S. Patton in Hamm, Luxembourg


This tour combines stunning riding country with battlefield locations. Suitable for riders with longer tour experience or those who are seeking a first long tour on the continent
